Background:

In the Spring of 2021, we launched the Hingham Youth Track program. It was very well received and so we decided to offer Cross Country in the Fall as well. Since its inception, over 500 6th – 8th grade athletes have participated in at least one season of this program.

2026 SPRING TRACK & FIELD

AGES:

All Hingham 6th-8th Graders are Welcome!  Please arrive 10-15 min EARLY if possible.

DETAILS:

Practices will take place in April & May on Mondays & Thursdays from 5:15-6:30pm at the Hingham High School Track.

Practices will be led by assistant coaches, with oversight from a head coach. As we continue to grow and evolve our program - including competitive meets for those who are interested - we will have a select number of assistant coaches from HHS participating as well.

Goals for our athletes are simple. Have fun, enjoy the outdoors, get exercise and learn new skills. We hope that most, if not all, compete in Track and Field events.

EVENTS:

· Running events: sprints, mid and distance from 100 M run to 1 mile, relays

· Jumping events: Long Jump and High Jump

· Throwing: Javelin, Shot Put, Discus

PRICE:

$225 per child

*Refunds will be made IF we have to cap participation due to limited volunteers - LIFO (last in, first out for refunds)
